We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Structural and Civil Engineer to join our highly qualified team in the Dublin office.
JOB DESCRIPTION
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Structural design and analysis at a range of project stages including conceptual, preliminary and detailed design
- Checking and analysis of internal and third-party designs
- Value engineering to review designs and assist in finding solutions and improvements for clients
- Finite element analysis and reporting on results
- Carry out site inspections, investigations and supervision for projects, liaising with designers and contractors to support construction works
- Prepare drawings, reports, calculations, analysis and specifications to support submissions to clients
- Contribute to projects by actively participating in internal meetings and collaborating across teams in a multidisciplinary environment and provide support in meetings with Clients and third parties
- Undertake project management and coordination activities, which may include monitoring programmes and budgets, liaising with teams and individuals and reporting progress and updates
- Adopt procedures for standardisation of work products and deliverables, and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery of the Company’s technical work product
PERSON SPECIFICATION
KEY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- First Class/2:1 Masters Degree in a relevant discipline
- Basic knowledge of Eurocodes and other relevant national and international industry standards
- Basic awareness of forms of contract, construction methodologies and civil engineering procedures
- Desire to work in a consultancy environment on large scale infrastructure project
- Competent in the use of MS Office programmes and ability to develop competence in use of proprietary structural analysis programmes to suit specific role requirements
