Vardy is Managing Director of Rendel, overseeing the company’s operations in global infrastructure markets, bridges, tunnels, highways, ports and maritime facilities, rail and energy projects.
As Managing Director, Vardy has global remit over Rendel's UK, Ireland and Australian offices, with major recent project assignments include the design of the Main Works Civils Contract C1 of HS2 for Align, Hinkley B Nuclear Power Station, the Lagos Toll Road in Nigeria and the Coventry Very Light Rail project.
Vardy has over 30 years' experience in civil and structural engineering, and has been instrumental in major transport infrastructure projects around the world. He has a proven track record of assembling winning bidding teams, forging joint ventures, and forming consortia with complementary skills and expertise, all of which enhance clients' capital programs and projects.
Vardy's extensive network and collaboration extend to government agencies, investors, banks, major corporations, operators, international contractors, specialist vendors, lawyers, and insurers. He leads Rendel's design, engineering, interface management, and construction supervision teams, along with technical experts, throughout the entire project and investment life-cycle.
