George Kapos

BEng MSc DIC CEng MICE

George Kapos is a Chartered Civil Structural engineer with 18 years of experience in major transport infrastructure and process industry projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia. He has key knowledge and expertise in the design of concrete and steel structures ranging from buildings to bridges.

During his career to date George has worked on several significant transportation projects, notably the Colne Valley Viaduct (High Speed 2) in the UK; The North West Rail Link (NWRL) in Australia; the New Tyne Crossing in the UK; The New Europe Bridge in Bulgaria - Romania and the Shah Amanat Bridge in Bangladesh. On the Colne Valley Viaduct (HS2) George is the Engineering Manager leading the design of the 3.4km Viaduct and associated Approach Embankments.

George graduated from a three-year BEng course in Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds in 2002. After graduation he received an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) scholarship and successfully completed an MSc degree in Infrastructure Asset Maintenance and Management at the University of Leeds. In 2003 he undertook a one-year MSc degree course in Concrete Structures at Imperial College, London and joined Rendel in 2004.
