Peter is a civil engineer with over 35 years experience in the transport sector and is Rendel’s Market Sector Leader for Transportation. His role covers the UK highways market and international PPP projects.
Peter joined Rendel since January 2019, and has been involved in various UK and international transportation schemes, including multiple Eurotunnel projects such as the Widening of Freight Loading Area, CDM Support, and Dollands Moor schemes. Peter was appointed as the Pavements Specialist on Sydney Western Harbour Tunnel scheme, Assignment Director and Pavements Specialist on the Eurotunnel Widening of Freight Loading Area, Assignment Manager for the Bus Transit Services Scheme in City of Kampala, Technical Director for the Kampala Jinja Expressway PPP and the Transport Training Specialist for the Nepal Roads Management Project. Peter is currently the Design Manager for Coventry Very Light Rail managing a team of specialists to prepare the concept and detailed design.
Peter’s career commenced in Australia with a NSW State Road Authority in 1987, and in 1996 he completed a Masters of Business Administration degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Since 1997 he has worked internationally on transport projects in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Lebanon, Uganda, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Solomon Islands, Zambia, Lesotho, Ukraine, and Australia. His specialisations include Public Private Partnerships (PPP), institutional strengthening, policy development, feasibility studies, contract management (FIDIC), procurement, site supervision, quality assurance, asset management, pavement design, benefit monitoring, strategic planning, project planning and programming, labour based road maintenance and community participatory methods.
