Congratulations to George Kapos, who was shortlisted for the NCE/ACE Young Consultant of the Year award.

The award is for people in the initial stages of their consultancy careers and is intended to identify and celebrate the future ambassadors of the infrastructure industry.

The shortlisted candidates have already shown enthusiasm and dedication to their careers and to the sector, and have the ‘star quality’ that should see them reach the highest levels of the industry as their careers progress.

The award ceremony took place at London’s Claridges Hotel on Friday, 21st March 2014.

George graduated from a three-year BEng course in Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds in 2002. After graduation he received an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) scholarship and successfully completed an MSc degree in Infrastructure Asset Maintenance and Management at the University of Leeds. He joined Rendel in 2004 following completion of a one-year MSc degree course in Concrete Structures at Imperial College, London.

George has worked on a selection of Rendel’s major infrastructure projects across the world, including: the Shah Amanat Bridge, Bangladesh; the New Europe Bridge, Bulgaria-Romania; the New Tyne Crossing, UK; the Femern Fixed Link, Germany-Denmark; and the Mersey Gateway Project, UK.
