Rendel was announced as the deserving winner of the Graduate Initiative of the Year category at the 2019 Construction News Talent Awards
In prestigious ceremony held at City Central at the HAC on Wednesday 20 November, organisations from across the construction industry were honoured across 17 categories in a night of recognition.
The awards celebrate the people striving to make construction a more inclusive industry, as well the businesses doing outstanding work to improve the construction industry’s reputation and employment practices.
Following a rigorous judging process conducted by HR and talent experts from inside and outside the industry, Rendel emerged as the winner of Graduate Initiative of the Year for their work on their newly implemented, improved graduate recruitment and training scheme.
The judges praised them, saying:
- Rendel is training its graduates as individuals, helping them identify their interests and support their progression
- The initiative is embedded across the company in a holistic approach to recruitment
- Early engagement with universities and professional institutes is of core value to graduates
- Grads are encouraged to take responsibility for their own development and engage in the wider sector. The 100% success rate of grads gaining chartered status shows commitment to supporting the future of the industry
