Richard Valenta is a chartered civil engineer with 25 years’ experience on highways, railways, bridges, drainage structures and tunnel projects. He has extensive experience in project management, project coordination, business development, team leadership, drainage design and highway design on large multidisciplinary schemes as well as on local road projects, urban projects and development projects. Richard has worked on the projects in Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Ireland, Kenya, Moldova, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UK, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
Richard joined Rendel in September 2013 as Assistant Director for Highways, having previously worked as a principal/senior civil engineer on major highways and infrastructure projects - from the feasibility studies to the detailed design stage, including M25 DBFO Widening, A876 Upper Forth Crossing and M1 Widening in the United Kingdom, N9 Phase 3 Kilcullen to Carlow in Ireland, M4 Managed Motorway in Australia and King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Saudi Arabia.
Recently, Richard has worked on several predominantly government or IFI-funded projects in Europe, Africa and Asia.
This is a UK government-backed scheme to construct a second-high speed railway project.
