Shatin to Central Link (Contract 1121 - NSL Cross Harbour Tunnels), Shatin Immersed Tube Tunnel
The Shatin to Central Link (SCL) scheme comprises two sections:
- Tai Wan to Hung Hom Section, which is an extension of Ma On Shan Line via East Kowloon to connect West Rail Line (WRL) at Hung Hom; and
- Cross Harbour Section which is an extension of the East Rail Line (EAL) at Hung Hom across the harbour to Admiralty.
Rendel worked on the Immersed Tube Tunnel tender design for Hong Kong’s NSL Cross Harbour Tunnels, Contract 1121, as a sub-consultant to Arup Hong Kong. The Arup/Rendel design consortium was engaged by the Dragages/Bouygues Travaux Publics/Leader Construction JV who retained Volker Stevin as its Immersed Tube Tunnel specialist sub-contractor.
