Rendel Ingérop Pty, a subsidiary of Rendel Limited, has an exciting opportunity for a Experienced Engineer to join our highly qualified and expanding team in Sydney.
JOB DESCRIPTION
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake structural design and analysis using design software across a broad range of structural types and using various international standards
- Deliver engineering solutions and reporting results to managers and clients
- Assist in the management of the design process that may include other related design disciplines/teams
- Coordinate design as part of an internal team and liaise with external associated professionals and our clients
- Undertake and support the leadership and delivery of assignments, maximising fee income
- Assist and support the development and maintenance of a high level of technical capability to deliver the service offerings targeted
- Support with the organisation and management of the technical staff, acting as a line manager as required, supporting staff recruitment, training, CPD and implementation of ‘Best Practice’ and procedures
- Adopt procedures for standardisation and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in the service delivery of the Company’s technical work product
- Uphold the Company Health & Safety and Environment Policies across all activities
PERSON SPECIFICATION
KEY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree qualified Civil Engineer, working towards Chartership with Engineers Australia
- At least 4 years’ experience of hands-on engineering design and analysis
- Working knowledge of structural processes and design, with a particular emphasis on data interpretation, design & analysis, construction and advanced numerical modelling
- Structural design experience including bridges, foundations, retaining structures, marine structures, jetties etc.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards and other national and international industry standards, contracts, methodologies and procedures
- Experience of computer analysis of structures and design of structural elements in common materials i.e. steel, concrete, composite

Mentoring skills to train and develop other engineers and technicians and demonstrates high standards as an example for others
- Business Acumen: Results oriented with a proven ability to work to defined, agreed targets and priorities
IT SKILLS:
- Knowledge and experience in structural analysis/finite element software such as Robot, Strand 7, SPACE GASS, LUSAS, MasterFrame, RM Bridge, SAM (Autodesk Structural Bridge Design) etc
- Excellent Microsoft Office abilities (particularly Excel)
- Programming / scripting knowledge
