Rail Baltica

Rendel Limited and parent company Ingerop have been appointed to coordinate civil engineering and track laying for the construction of the Latvian section of Rail Baltica. The Latvian section, which is 230 kilometres long and will cost 3.7 billion euros, includes 175 engineering structures and 11 wildlife crossings. It aims to integrate the Baltic States into the European rail network, linking Helsinki in Finland and Warsaw in Poland. The track design will enable passenger trains to travel at 249 kilometres per hour and freight trains at 120 kilometres per hour.

Thames Barrier

The Thames Barrier is one of the largest and most prestigious moveable flood defence structures in the world. Rendel (formerly Rendel Palmer & Tritton) designed and supervised the construction of this major project. The structure covers the entire width of the River Thames at Woolwich with four main openings of 61m to permit navigation and six subsidiary gated openings.

Padma Bridge

A two-level, steel truss bridge with a four-lane highway on the upper level and provisions for a single track railway on the lower level. The upper and lower levels act compositely with a reinforced concrete deck slab. The bridge has a total length of 6.15 kilometres and a width of 22 metres at upper deck level. As well as rail and road, the bridge carries utilities including high pressure a gas pipe and telecommunication lines. The project is considered one of the most challenging construction projects in the country’s history, as in response to very challenging foundation conditions, it features driven piles over 125m long.

Rendel’s Infrastructure team is absolutely delighted that the Department of Transport has approved and issued a Notice to Proceed to Align to deliver Stage 2 of the C1 package of HS2.

Garacad Seaport

Rendel’s ports sector, in collaboration with Ingerop Kenya and Ingerop South Africa, is delivering design review services for the development of the port for Wadaagsan Company. Our services include consultation and engineering design services, full design review and the optimisation of the design for the ongoing port construction project.

Aspec Engineering Pty Ltd, joined the Rendel Group in 2022.  Aspec Engineering is a multidisciplinary engineering specialising in material handling, ports, and infrastructure and has offices in Brisbane, (QLD), Perth (WA), Newcastle and Wollongong (NSW).  Rendel and Aspec Engineering have a successful 12-year history of collaboration on various projects in Australia. Notable joint projects include Hay Point Expansion Berth 3, Sydney Metro Northwest Rail Link and the Hay Point Berth 2 Shiploader Replacement Project.

In 2023, T&RS Engineering became a subsidiary of Rendel. Based in the northeast of England, T&RS Engineering has an extensive rail heritage. Their experience extends beyond passenger traction & rolling stock to include freight and on track plant and machinery. We supply reliable and diverse engineering support to Train Operating Companies, Rolling Stock Leasing Companies and other Rail Service Providers.

In 2025, Rendel extended its service offering by acquiring a controlling interest in Stonebridge Commercial Solutions Limited, a contract, risk and dispute resolution consultancy based in the UK, with a global clientele. Stonebridge Commercial Solutions specialise in providing business focussed solutions to commercial issues on major international construction projects.
