Visiting Wadi Laban

Rendel recently attended a site visit to Wadi Laban in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This iconic project includes the construction of two new cable stayed bridges either side of an existing cable stayed bridge as part of the wider plans of easing traffic congestion around the western ring road in the area extending from Ibn-Hazm Road to Jeddah Road.
Rendel, acting as specialist sub-consultant (Cable Stayed Bridges) to IDS, are part of the PMCM team responsible for the Design Review and Construction Supervision on behalf of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.
Our latest visit focused on preparations for casting the first of more than 450 precast segments. It was also great to see the significant progress being made on the construction of the lower pylons.
