Omar Nabeel is Rendel’s Market Sector Director for Bridges and Structures. He is a Chartered Engineer in both the UK and Australia, with expertise in the analysis, design, assessment and construction of steel, steel/concrete composite and concrete (both reinforced and prestressed) bridges including cable stayed bridges, extradosed, balanced cantilever, and span-by-span.

Omar has over 14 years of experience through all stages of the design and construction process of major infrastructure projects both in the UK and internationally. This includes feasibility studies, reference design, tender design, detailed design, independent checking, erection engineering and construction supervision. Throughout his career, Omar has worked on major bridge projects including Wadi Laban, Saudi Arabia; Colne Valley Viaduct on HS2, UK; Atlantic Bridge, Panama; Howrah Bridge, India; Bizerte Bridge, Tunisia; Kewatkhali Bridge, Bangladesh; Parramatta Light Rail 2, Australia; Windsor Road Single Span Cable Stayed Crossing on Sydney Metro, Australia; and the Garden Bridge in the UK.

Omar’s experience has involved high-end computerised finite element linear and non-linear analysis for staged construction, earthquake, wind, cable loss and ship impact, as well as design references to international codes such as AASHTO LRFD, AS5100 and the Eurocodes. His experience includes the use of LUSAS; RM Bridge; and Midas Civil.
