Rendel’s Birmingham office, which opened its doors in 2019, has welcomed its first Work Experience student, Megane Brasse, a Year 10 student, who spent 4 days gaining the experience of working within an engineering design consultancy as part of her school curriculum.

Megane, who enjoys maths and physics, learned about office management, the daily life of an engineer and was introduced to the principles of civil engineering. She was given an overview of some of our current major projects, including HS2 and Coventry VLR, as well as an introduction to CAD. She also learned how to calculate loadings on structures.

We are delighted that Megane has found the Work Experience very enjoyable and informative. Work experience can provide students a great opportunity to build their confidence and to provide an insight into the working world. We think this is an important step to ensure students can make an informed choice about their future education and career path. We hope to host many more students during their summer placements in the future.
