Ioannis Koromilas wins Bridge Engineer Rising Star

Last week, team Rendel attended the NCE Bridge Awards 2024 after being nominated for two awards, alongside an additional two awards as part of our collaboration with Align JV on HS2 C1. 

Highlighting the event was the recognition of Senior Engineer Ioannis Koromilas, who not only received a nomination for the ‘Bridge Engineer Rising Star’ category but also triumphed, bringing home the award. 

The judges commented: "This winner's input into foundation design improvement with detail on carbon reduction and time savings was impressive. The value and impact of this work was well received and added value to the design process. Clear ambitions to be technical director will be bolstered by his efforts to continually seek feedback and input from others. Well done Ioannis!". 

We are incredibly proud of Ioannis’ achievement; this marks the second award win of his career. In 2022, he won the ‘Graduate of the Year’ award at the Construction News Workforce Awards.
