Petrochemical Refinery Integration Al Zour (PRIZe) Project - Kuwait
Rendel has been appointed by Amec Foster Wheeler to provide maritime consultancy services on KIPIC's Petrochemical Refinery Integration Al Zour (PRIZe) project. Amec Foster Wheeler is acting as PMC with overall FEED responsibility for the PRIZe project. The client is KIPIC (Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company).
PRIZe covers the integration/expansion of the Al Zour Oil Refinery with the addition of gasoline production, an aromatics plant and an olefins plant. The following products will be exported from the PRIZe marine facilities:
- Gasoline
- Benzene
- Paraxylene
- Solid pelletized polypropylene (in bags or bulk container)
There will also be import of methanol.
Rendel has been active in providing maritime services to the oil and gas sector for the last 40 years in Kuwait and is already engaged by Amec Foster Wheeler as the specialist Maritime Consultant (PMC) on the Al Zour Oil Refinery project. Al Zour is part of a three-phase petroleum development including:
- Al Zour Oil Refinery – currently being constructed under EPC Contract (Rendel are Maritime PMC)
- LNG import facility – currently being constructed under EPC Contract
- PRIZe project – currently in FEED phase
