Port of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
The ports and maritime team, in association with Ingerop, has been appointed to provide consultancy services for the front end engineering design for the Abidjan container terminal project in the Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire).
Rendel and Ingerop’s role will focus on the preliminary design and engineering works for the land side works of the second container terminal at the port of Abidjan. This project brings together the international ports capability from Rendel together with the language and local skills of Ingerop.
The expansion of the terminal includes the following infrastructure:
- Three-berth quay
- The dredging of the quay berth, turning circle and channel at -18m
- Widening of the access channel
- Reclamation and soil improvement
- A 37.5 ha container terminal yard, with buildings and utilities
Our services will include:
- Establishment of the client’s requirements
- Optimisation of the general layout of the port
- FEED design, specification and drawings for the following works:
- Last metre of yard structure and paving for the quay front area, the stacking areas, the buildings area, the workshop area, the gates, the parking areas
- Drainage networks
- Water supply networks
- Firefighting networks
- Power supply (connection to mains, back-up supply, substations, grid, power access points)
- Ducts and access points for Information and communication infrastructure
- Infrastructure for electrical RTG’s
- Reefer container bridges, power access and monitoring
- Access gates
- Fencing, access control and security provisions
- Outdoor areas for washing all equipment and maintaining RTGs
- Provisions to deal with leaking containers and hazardous goods containers
- Fuel supply and distribution system
- Bills of quantities and estimates
- Works programme
- Risk and opportunities register
- Assessment of the design and tender process
