North Projects Pty Ltd and Rendel Limited have joined forces and been appointed to provide Independent Certification and Design Compliance Review services for the Port of Melbourne's Rail Transformation Project (PRTP), which is currently progressing through design development into the early stages of construction.

As Independent Certifier, North and Rendel are providing professional services to certify compliance, progress, design, quality, commissioning and Practical Completion.

The PRTP involves the development and construction of a new rail terminal interfacing with the Swanson Dock East International Container Terminal. The rail terminal will include two new sidings that can handle 600-metre-long trains.

This is an important step towards implementing a critical rail solution to meet the needs of the growing Port of Melbourne precinct.
