Rendel appointed to advise Bangladesh on urban infrastructure improvements
As part of a joint venture, Rendel has been appointed to provide consulting services for governance and infrastructure improvement under the City Governance Project (CGP), which is funded by the Japanese aid agency, JICA.
The objective of the CGP is to improve public services and promote economic opportunities in five City Corporations by strengthening their administrative capacity and improving urban infrastructure. The infrastructure component of the project will include Design, Supervision and Monitoring (DSM) as well as a Feasibility Study and Master Plan Review (FSMP) component.
Rendel will provide several personnel to the JV team, including a Bridge Engineer to the DSM team and an Urban Planner, Bridge Engineer, Road Engineer and Drainage Engineer to the FSMP team. Other members of the JV are Padeco Co Ltd (Japan), NJS Consultants Co Ltd (Japan), Development Design Consultants Ltd (Bangladesh) and BCL Associates (Bangladesh).

The consultancy period started in August 2015 and is expected to be completed in June 2017.
