Rendel is Shortlisted for Three (!) CN Workforce Awards in 2023

We are very proud to have been shortlisted in three categories of the CN Workforce Awards 2023.

Congratulations to Alex Eveleigh, Junior CAD Technician at Rendel, who has been shortlisted for ‘Apprentice of the Year’. This category recognises apprentices who have demonstrated ‘outstanding promise in their chosen field’. Alex joined Rendel as an Apprentice nearly two years ago and his journey has resulted in him playing a key role in the quality assurance process on the Colne Valley Viaduct (CVV), the UK’s longest railway bridge, on the HS2 project.

Rendel has also been shortlisted in the ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year’ category. Winners of this category are required to demonstrate efforts to ‘foster a more diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees’. Rendel has been working hard to deliver our Vision 2027 initiative, which includes diversity targets in our leadership team and technical workforce and initiatives to further support and develop our team.

The third category we are shortlisted in is for ‘Technology Team of the Year’. Our entry, on behalf of Align-JV and Rendel, is entitled ‘Enhancing design and construction of the Colne Valley Viaduct (CVV) through innovative technology’.  This described the development of an innovative and bespoke digital ‘modelling tool’ which enabled the design team of the CVV on the HS2 project to significantly improve both the design and construction phases of the project.
