Rendel has won the prestigious Construction News Workforce Award for the top Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative for 2023.

At a glittering ceremony held at Grosvenor House Hotel, London on Thursday 16th November 2023, organisations from across the construction industry were honoured in 18 categories on a night of recognition.

This award recognises a consulting firm within the construction and civil engineering industry that champions equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) as part of their business focus.

Following a rigorous judging process conducted by HR, equality, diversity and organisational development leaders from inside and outside the industry, Rendel emerged as the winner for its Vision 2027 initiative which is being implemented to embed, promote, set goals, and measure EDI as part of its core values.

The judges praised Rendel and commented:

“This was a very well-presented submission, which had excellent evidence not only of the details of the initiative, but also clear measurement of the impact that had been achieved as a result. They also demonstrated good commitment to longer term effects highlighting retentionship and leadership as important elements”.

Construction News editor, Colin Marrs said:

“Our worthy winners are breaking new boundaries in areas such as mental health, improving diversity and inclusion, closing unfair pay gaps, and becoming more socially responsible. The winners demonstrate world-leading excellence, ensuring the construction industry remains a great place to work.”
