Rendel was appointed by Eurotunnel to carry out the detailed design and construction supervision for a temporary junction between the M20 and A20. The junction provided a new option to unload vehicles from the Shuttle, preventing major road disruptions after Brexit.

Rendel’s services included:

  • Concept and detailed design for the new temporary junction
  • Survey of the area, including topography and utilities in the verges along the A20
  • Preparation of specification, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimate
  • Tender support
  • Construction supervision
