Dubai Metro
The world's longest driverless metro network
The Dubai Metro is the world's longest, fully-automated metro network, spanning 75km. The Red Line (53km with 5.5km in tunnels and 29 stations) and Green Line (23km with 8km in tunnels and 20 stations) are operational, with a further three lines planned. The first section of the Red Line, covering 10 stations, was inaugurated at 9:09:09 PM on 9 September 2009.
Rendel provided support to major stakeholders involved in the delivery of this project.
Rendel was engaged because the project was experiencing very substantial changes to station finishes and mechanical and electrical installation requirements within a framework of a fixed completion date.
