Rendel Shortlisted for Ground Engineering Awards

We are delighted to announce that Rendel has been shortlisted for the Ground Engineering Awards 2026 in the category of UK Geotechnical Team of the Year.
Our team for the High Speed Two (HS2) Contract C1 Earthworks on the Western Valley Slopes comprises Align‑D (Rendel, Jacobs) and Align JV (Bouygues Travaux Publics, VolkerFitzpatrick and Sir Robert McAlpine).
Rendel has been involved in Contract C1 since its inception in 2016, providing services across the full project lifecycle, including tender design, scheme design, detailed design, construction phase support and handover.
The Contract C1 works comprise 23.9 km of high‑speed rail infrastructure, including a 3.4 km viaduct (Colne Valley Viaduct), a 16 km twin‑bored tunnel (Chiltern Tunnel) with five ventilation and access shafts, 5 km of engineering earthworks, two highway overbridges, one footbridge and a green overbridge.
We look forward to attending the awards ceremony on 17 June in London.
