Sam Reynolds is a Chartered Engineer and UK registered ground engineering professional, specialising in foundations and earthworks engineering. Sams experience bridges both design consultancy and construction, with several years’ experience managing the delivery of ground engineering projects for a contractor before joining Rendel.

Since joining Rendel, Sam has developed expertise across multiple sectors, most recently on secondment in Australia. During this time, he led the Australian ground engineering team and acted as the geotechnical discipline lead on several ports and maritime projects, including Stanley Point Berth 3 and Lumsden Point in Port Hedland, Western Australia, where he also served as Deputy Design Manager.

In the UK, Sam played a significant role on High Speed 2 (HS2), a 160 km high-speed rail project connecting London and Birmingham. Sam played a key role in the design of the bored pile foundations for the Colne Valley Viaduct, which when open will be the UK’s longest railway viaduct. He also managed the geotechnical delivery of the Category 3 (CAT 3) checks for several assets, including earthworks, overbridges and viaducts, on the C2/C3.
